History
Sheppard Contractors was founded in 1970 by John and June Sheppard. John started out like many successful earthmoving companies, with one truck and one employee, himself. Over the subsequent three decades Sheppard Contractors has expanded into a medium-sized civil contracting company, serving the Wide Bay and Fraser Coast area.
John's philosophy throughout this time remained unerring in a quest to become renowned as the "Down to Earth Specialist." This was achieved by establishing a reputation as being “the honest contractor".
In mid-2004 John justifiably decided that 34 years of contracting was enough, opting to sell out and retire. The business was taken over by Civil, Mining and Construction Pty Ltd: a private company wholly owned by Peter Kendall and David Ahern.
The philosophy of the new directors is to continue John's 34-year legacy of honesty, integrity, and reliability, while adding their own wealth of knowledge and experience, building and expanding the existing company into a major second tier principle contractor. This is being achieved by the introduction of the latest operating systems, gaining Quality Assurance approval, and adopting the latest equipment management techniques.
