CMC awarded contract for upgrade of Maryborough-Hervey Bay Road
CMC has been awarded a $12.8 million contract by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, for the upgrade of the Maryborough-Hervey Bay Road between Torbanlea-Pialba and Booral Roads.
Located approximately 20km north-east of Maryborough, the project involves:
- the extension and replacement of the existing northbound overtaking lane to a southbound overtaking lane;
- the realignment of Torbanlea-Pialba and Booral Roads to create a roundabout with Maryborough-Hervey Bay Road; and
- the realignment of Old Walligan and Moes Roads.
Work is due to commence on site in February 2010, and is the second upgrade project undertaken by CMC along the route.
