Bruce Highway - Installation of Wire Rope Barrier & Associated Shoulder Widening
The Bruce Highway Wire Rope Barrier Project was located near Caboolture on the Bruce Highway North of Brisbane. The Bruce Highway is the major coastal highway of Queensland, and the section near Caboolture provides the primary regional transport link within South East Queensland between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
The project required the construction of 8km of wire rope guardrail to the Bruce Highway at Burpengary, including widening of the median shoulder by 2.5 metres. Due to the high volume of traffic and restrictions imposed by the Queensland Department of Main Roads limiting disruptions to the operation of the highway, all works for the project were conducted at night and involved reducing three lanes of traffic to one, in both North and South bound directions.
CMC delivered the project on time with minimal disruption to traffic.
